The Triangle Bikeway is a 23-mile path linking Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Research Triangle Park (RTP), Durham, and Chapel Hill. While the project is called a “bikeway,” it is a shared-use path suitable for users of all ages and abilities, both bicyclists and pedestrians, and serves the purpose of connecting Triangle residents and visitors to jobs, popular destinations, trail networks, and transit across the region.

The shared-use path is being constructed in two design phases. Currently in design, Triangle Bikeway East is about 14 miles and links Research Triangle Park (RTP) to the Museum of Art Bridge over I-440 in Raleigh while the western portion of the project is in future phase.
